Do you need an obituary for Otsego or Delaware Counties?  Were your ancestors living in the Oneonta area at one time?  

The library is currently able to conduct genealogy and local history research on behalf of  patrons who can't make it to the library.  Lookups include a search of our holdings, including obituaries, city directories, and local history materials.  

Research Fees:

Initial Fee: $7.50
Includes initial correspondence.

Research Fee: $7.50/15 minutes
Customer specifies time limit.

Additional Fees:

Photocopies: $.20/.30 per page.

Microfilm Copies: $.30 per page.

Mailing Fees: The cost of postage will be added for anything weighing over one ounce (four pages).

Responses will be given when initial fees are paid.

Family History Center

Huntington Memorial Library is an authorized branch of the Family History Library of the Genealogical Society of Utah.  The  Society is part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or LDS, (also known as the Mormon Church).  

Patrons may borrow genealogical and historical materials on microfilm from the Family History Library.  The Library holds over two million rolls of microfilm containing copies of original records from around the world. Records include:

census schedules
vital records
church, Bible, family, and cemetery records
court records
immigration records
biographies
maps and atlases
newspapers records
probate records
 and more!

This vast collection has been acquired from governments, churches, and individuals throughout the world.  Patrons may borrow film at the cost of $6.00 per reel and all materials are to be viewed in the New York State History Room.  Please contact Librarian Sarah Livingston at 607-432-1980 for more information.
